SMX® RTOS Now Available to Ease Development on Sitara™ AM335x ARM® Processors from Texas Instruments

Costa Mesa, California, May 9, 2013 — Micro Digital, Inc. is pleased to offer out-of-the-box SMX® real-time operating system (RTOS) support for the Sitara™ AM335x ARM® Cortex™-A8 processors from Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI). This new SMX RTOS support allows developers to get their projects off to a quick start with the middleware and drivers needed for many of the on-chip peripherals, as well as an exceptional graphical debug tool that helps programmers solve problems quickly. Developers also benefit from extensive error checking and diagnostics in the software.

The Sitara AM335x ARM processor generation is based on the ARM Cortex-A8 core. It has a rich set of peripherals, including Ethernet MAC, USB controllers, MMC/SD card controller, and LCD controller. It operates up to 1 GHz, with up to 128 KB on-chip SRAM.

Full support, including project files and demo code, is provided for IAR’s Embedded Workbench for ARM toolsuite.
